Collection: Hemp Building Materials

Hemp Building Materials — Sourced to Order for Builders and Developers

Hemp construction products are made in production runs, not held on a shelf, so this collection lists what we currently stock and we source the rest to order. Tell us the specification and volume and we'll come back with pricing, lead time and the mill or manufacturer behind it.

What we can supply

  • Hemp hurds (shiv) — the woody inner core of the stalk, used as the aggregate in hempcrete and as low-dust animal bedding. Available now in our fiber and hurds collection.
  • Hempcrete mixes and blocks — hurd-and-lime binder systems for infill walls, sourced to order by volume.
  • Hemp fiber insulation — batts and rolls, sourced to order.
  • Hemp fiberboard and composite panels — sourced to order for interior and non-structural applications.

Why builders use hemp

  • Hempcrete is breathable, so walls regulate humidity instead of trapping it
  • Strong thermal and acoustic insulation for its weight
  • Naturally resistant to fire, pests and mold
  • Lightweight, which reduces structural load
  • Hemp absorbs CO₂ as it grows, and hempcrete continues to carbonate over its life

What hemp is not

Hempcrete is an insulating infill, not a structural material — it fills and insulates a timber or steel frame rather than carrying load. We'll tell you when hemp is the wrong material for your build.
