What this weight is for. At 5.4 oz per square yard this is a lightweight woven. Shirting, blouses, scarves, linings and summer dresses.

Before you cut. Hemp fabric sold by the yard shrinks on its first wash — pre-wash and dry it before cutting, or your finished piece will not stay the size you made it. It softens with every wash after that.
